KLAN youngsters excel at the Aviva Fun in Athletics (London Regional) Festival
A team of 29 highly talented Under 11 year old athletes represented the Kent London McCain Athletics Network (KLAN) in the Aviva Fun in Athletics (London Region) Festival on Saturday 14 January 2011 at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre.

I attach three documents (shown at the foot of the page) for your attention - the meeting notes of the two London consultations held in November and the resulting submission made by the London Council for consideration by the National Council as part of the national strategy consultation. There is no confidentiality requirement with these papers - feel free to distribute them or put them on your club website as you see fit.
LONDON 2012 is looking for young athletes to help carry kit boxes to the startline for competitors at next year's Olympic Games.
The volunteers are needed for the Olympics, Paralympics and also test events and the role includes leading an athlete into the arena, standing behind them in their lane as they prepare for competition and then taking the kit box to the post-event area.
They are some of the 2000 "Young Games Makers" roles available for teenagers who want to be part of the 2012 experience - and there are many other jobs too such as delivering results around the Olympic Stadium. In addition to these Young Games Makers positions, London 2012 will use around 70,000 adult Games Makers next year.
Blackheath & Bromley scored 81 points to make a top 3 placing behind the winners Audacia Record Atletica (102.5 points) and 2010 winners Fenerbachce (85points). This of course followed the Bromley based club triumph at the National Junior Athletics League Finals in Derby the previous weekend, where they ran out winners over 2nd- placed Birchfield by 38 points, the Junior Ladies from Blackheath & Bromley Harriers travelled to Castellon in Spain for the European Champion Clubs Cup last Saturday, 17th September.
Dina Asher Smith is the Commonwealth Youth 200 metres Champion. The Blackheath & Bromley athlete won her title at Douglas in the Isle Of Man when the island played host to the Commonwealth Youth Games 7th to 13th September 2011.
