The Kent London Athletics Network has come to fruition as a result of members of the network clubs coming together, with England Athletics, and openly discussing how the creation of the network, and the available funds, could be established for the mutual and individual benefit of those member clubs. The clubs accepted early on in the discussions that in the main they compete fiercely with each other, however the real difference in the clubs comes from the people within the club. By sharing efforts to improve the various consitituent parts of the club, e.g. coach development, volunteer recruitment, that club rivalry would not be diminished but it would rather be enhanced as the clubs take advantage of the network staff and funds available.
