I can confirm that as a coach who has undertaken a UKA Coach Education course and qualified as a level 2 then the UKA public liability policy will apply when working – as long as your licence is current.
This will also apply when coaching long jump, despite your qualification in sprints – your level 1 qualification will have covered other events at a basic level. A parallel situation might be using circuit training as a training activity – you won’t have received education in circuit training as part of the coach education process but our insurers acknowledged this as a regular training method and coaches are covered whilst using it.
